The Emperor of China befriends a golden-throated nightingale - but when a mechanical bird shows up at court, will he choose the toy over a living creature? This nature-friendly story gains an added environmental twist in this new and refreshing adaptation.

The show is approximately 1 hour long, with a cast of approximately 9, and can be performed with two sets.

The Emperor and the Nightingale is best for children ages 5-8, and appropriate for all ages!

Following a sucessful season of King Midas, The Emperor and the Nightingale was commissioned by the 40-year-old Schenectady Theater for Children for their 2008 season. It toured to approximately 30 elementary schools in upstate NY.
